Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading their performance. They can be a great source of damage or more AD or even more attaches.
Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the performance of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using a specialist or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from items.
The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of an armor piece will increase when it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. But, it's important to be aware that this upgrade will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.
There are several different types of armor upgrade available in the game. Each one has a distinct effect. Some upgrades give armor an additional number of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The type of armor upgrade that an item can get will be identified by the name of the upgrade as illustrated in the table below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which are indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire based on the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be found through exploring the surroundings and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can give significant boost to stats and are a worthwhile cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will significantly increase its defense capabilities, but the player should be aware that increasing its weight will drastically reduce its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The boost in defense typically isn't worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of specific aspects of the weapon. For instance an upgrade can improve the damage that is caused by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of a sniper rifle. Certain weapons come with special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).
The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. They can be obtained by finishing side quests, killing a certain number of bosses or monsters, or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain amount of Bars. The more bars you need to complete an upgrade the more expensive the upgrade. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the method of upgrading your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Previously, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific amount of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to a higher quality. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. You're better off buying gear with low upgrade levels and high base scores and stat distributions. These items have a greater chance of giving you the highest tier benefits and blessings.
To level up faster, many players prioritize upgrading their weapons. Additionally players, they should think about upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to make them more powerful as well. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will increase its utility when paired with biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are used in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing a stat and providing secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is a method of creating them. You combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the jewel is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler, in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the gem, it will provide a different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, gear and jewelry.
All levels of jewels can be made at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain them. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with a jewel of the same type without destroying it. However it is only possible to replace the jewels in an equipment piece once.

It is common to use more gems for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not damage them.
In addition to the above upgrades players can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs offer a small boost in power and can be swapped, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be found through an upgrade extractor, or salvaging with the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets can give your character various small, but useful, advantages. They can be obtained in the starter areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by completing road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player unlocks will be the cloak. It grants a small, but valuable boost to movement speed and evasion. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be put into any kind of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and only works with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that are active whenever the hero is not in combat. This allows the hero to be more effective while inactive and also helps fill in the void of a solid team or any slots from the talent tree that would normally be filled with hero's ideal stats.
As a rule trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace anytime soon. Next, any items that have desirable statistics are less significant than the iLevel of the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, as it's usually more beneficial to upgrade one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players however will pick a pink or green ward, based on the matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's map control abilities.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players will find other trinkets that form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones in the story, such as completing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. click the up coming document can be viewed by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
